Should Christain men fight?

What are you willing to fight for? It seems today we fight for all of the wrong reasons:  when  you cut me off in traffic, when you cut in line in front of me, if you talk about my mamma. But why won't we fight for our marriage, for our wives, for our sons and daughters?  It's so much easier to give in and find something to blame it on. (Because it's never OUR fault!) What we need today is a warrior, but where do you find one?

There aren't any "how to become a warrior" kits at Dick's, Sports Authority, or even the MMA stores. But I've got to tell you...something has caught fire inside of me again, and the fight is on. The training has begun to become a warrior.

I know where we should find warriors and, if I have anything to say about it, you will find warriors in the Church. Warriors fight against rulers, authorities, a dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Men are supposed to fight and be warriors, at least that is what Ephesians 6 tells us, and training for that happens with the Bible. So, if the church you are going to is NOT teaching the bible, go find another church.

Unfortunately, we don’t normally find "warriors" at a church service, we find nice, passive guys. I'm afraid that, sometimes, it's Satan dictating WHEN we fight--we lose our minds about bad drivers, but we barely react when Satan attacks our wives, our kids, and our families. No more, not on my watch.

I want to be a really dangerous man, I want to be Wild at Heart, the book our men’s groups has been going through.  The book has revitalized many men in our group; some go to our church and some don’t. We have learned to depend on each other; we have begun to sharpen our skills.  We are noticing where God is working and where Satan is attacking--and, most times, Satan is attacking men. It is time to stand up and fight to be a warrior, to be who God created us to be. We were created in God’s image and, after reading the Old or new Testament, I don’t know anyone who would describe God simply as “nice.”

So, as for myself, I have begun to read my Bible more regularly--daily, for the first time in a long time (besides for my sermon preparation or Connection Groups). I have started using the "you version." You can find it on line for free; download it to your phone it will read to you or you can read it. When Satan begins to attack, even if I am in the car, I can rub elbows with God by reading, or having His Word read to me.  God’s Word is the sword; the one offensive weapon in the armor of God.  I am aggressive in every other part of my life, why shouldn't I be aggressive when it comes to fighting for my family and my church against Satan?

Now the questions comes down to . . . will you fight?
